Delhi: Special Cell Arrests Two Sharpshooters After a Shootout at Rani Bagh

New Delhi: Two persons were arrested in connection with an alleged firing incident that happened at Ranibagh in New Delhi, said police.

arrested have been identified as 22 year old Bilal Ansari and 21 year old Shuheb from Uttar Presh's Bulandshahar.

Police recovered one semi-automatic pistol, one single shot firearm, six live cartridges, and one bike that y were riding from possession of accused. bike that was recovered was found to be stolen from Mohan Garden area in month of September 2024.

According to police, a businessman who is a resident of Sharda Niketan, Saraswati Vihar in Delhi, Pitampura, reported a firing incident at his house on Saturday, October 26.

Two individuals on a motorcycle arrived outside his residence, fired multiple rounds, and left a slip bearing name of "Kaushal Chaudhary - Pawan Shokeen - Bambhia Gang," police said.

Following complaint, South Western Range of Special Cell received information that shooters of Kaushal Chaudhary-Pawan Shokeen Gang would come to Kakrola area to meet ir associates.

Acting upon tip offs a trap was laid near Kakrola Drainage Ro towards Najafgarh Ro, and at around 02:15 hrs, police team spotted two suspects on a motorcycle.

After spotting accused, police signalled both of m to stop bike, but after seeing police party, driver immediately tried to take a U-turn, but bike slipped, immediately, police team surrounded m and asked m to surrender, police stated.

two suspects opened fire at police and in response, police also fired at m, leing one of suspects to sustain a bullet injury in his right leg.

reafter, both accused persons were overpowered, and injured were taken to Deen Dayal Uphaya Hospital, said police.

No police personnel were injured in exchange; a police official h a close call when a bullet fired by one of accused narrowly missed him, as per police.

Both accused persons have been interrogated and y confessed ir involvement in firing incident of firing at Rani Bagh.
