New Delhi: While addressing the launch of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) membership drive, ‘Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi made pointed comments about the political dynamics in India.

BJP Only Political Party Adhering To Democratic Processes: PM

Speaking at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, PM Modi asserted that the BJP is the “only” political party adhering strictly to democratic processes.

He emphasized that the BJP, since its inception as Bharatiya Jana Sangh, has strived to foster a new political culture in India, underscoring the importance of internal democracy within political organizations.

“This is the only political party in India that is following the democratic process while expanding its work, and continues to improve itself to meet the expectations of the people,” Modi stated. He stressed that the BJP’s membership drive is not merely a numbers game but a process of "family expansion," aiming to enhance the party’s organizational structure.

PM Modi Reiterates BJP’s Commitment To Gender Equality

PM Modi also reiterated the BJP’s commitment to gender equality, announcing that the ongoing membership drive will align with the party’s efforts to implement a 33% reservation for women in state assemblies and the Lok Sabha. He emphasized the goal of including members who can support and elect women candidates to legislative positions.

The ‘Sadasyata Abhiyan’ is part of the BJP's broader strategy to consolidate its base and ensure greater representation of women within the party and in political offices.
