DK Shivakumar To Meet Kamala Harris and Obama Ahead of US Elections 2024

Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister and Congress strategist DK Shivakumar has been invited to New York by US Vice President Kamala Harris, according to sources.

New Delhi:  Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister and Congress Leader DK Shivakumar has been invited to New York by US Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of her presidential debate with Republican nominee Donald Trump , according to sources. He is scheduled to leave for the US tonight, where he will meet both Harris and former President Barack Obama.   

Though the exact agenda of these meetings remains undisclosed, the timing is notable with Rahul Gandhi 's prersence in the country and the US elections approaching. 

The meetings are expected to take place in New York, with a private one-on-one discussion with Kamala Harris. A similar one-on-one meeting with Barack Obama is also planned. The invitation reportedly came directly from Kamala Harris and other Democratic leaders.  

Sources suggest that Kamala Harris has been in contact with DK Shivakumar over the past few months, adding an intriguing dimension to these discussions.  

Rahul Gandhi 's US Trip 

Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha,  Rahul Gandhi  also embarked on a trip to the United States on Friday night ahead of scheduled Presidential debate between Republican nominee  Donald Trump  and Vice President Kamala Harris on September 10.  

Rahul Gandhi  's itinerary includes engagements with the Indian diaspora, meetings with business and academic leaders, and participation in various activities.
