New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday issued a show cause notice to Akasa Air for regulatory violations after a review meeting. According to the officials, the aviation watchdog issued the show cause notice to the airline for "several regulatory breaches identified during a recent review". Reportedly, during the spot audit and scrutiny, it was revealed that practical training sessions conducted by the airline were completed and simulated without the mandated requisite regulatory approvals.

The DGCA, in its release, said that Akasa Air has been asked to file their reply for the violations within a period of seven days.

According to DGCA, "Several regulatory breaches were identified during a recent review. The airline has been asked to give an explanation for the lapses within a period of seven days.”

This has raised significant concerns regarding the adequacy of training standards and operational readiness, it added. In the release, DGCA also emphasized that it will take all necessary action to enforce regulatory compliance.
