Major Train Accident Averted! Dhanbad-Bound Ganga Sutlej Express Decoupled due to Technical Glitch

Railway authorities swiftly addressed the issue, reconnecting the decoupled bogies, and the train resumed its journey to Dhanbad.

Bijnor (UP): Early Sunday morning, 10 bogies of the Dhanbad-bound Ganga Sutlej Express detached from the train near Chakraj Mal area, officials said. No injuries were reported.

Train Bogies Uncouple, No One Injured

Additional Superintendent of Police Dharam Singh Marchal told local media, "Some bogies of a train headed to Dhanbad separated after decoupling from the engine and other bogies due to some technical problem at around 4 am". The separation happened between two sleeper coaches, according to railway officials.

Railway Authorities Take Swift Action

Railway authorities immediately addressed the issue, reconnecting the decoupled bogies, and the train resumed its journey to Dhanbad.

Among the passengers were over 200 candidates heading to the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment exam. To ensure they reached their exam centers on time, the local police and railway administration arranged for transportation via three buses.

In a similar incident, Two wagons and the locomotive of a private goods train derailed on a rail track maintained by a power plant in the Shaktinagar area of Sonebhadra District. The incident occurred in the morning around 11:30 a.m., but, no injuries were reported.

The train was transporting coal from Northern Coalfield Limited (NCL) in Khadia to the Anpara power plant when the derailment took place. Railway officials clarified that the track, wagons, and locomotive involved in the incident were all owned by the power plant.

S.P. Yadav, Executive Engineer at the Anpara power plant, stated that repairs to the track will take approximately one day to complete.
