Delhi Medical Association writes to HM Amit Shah over non-payment of doctors' salaries

Delhi Medical Association has written to Home Minister Amit Shah over non-payment of salaries of resident doctors of Kasturba Hospital and others amid COVID-19

Amid COVID-19 pandemic, when doctors and health care workers are working tirelessly to save lives, Delhi Medical Association has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah over n-payment of salaries of resident doctors at Kasturba Hospital, Hindu Rao Hospital and or hospitals or dispensaries under rth Delhi Municipal Corporation.

DMA has written to seek an appointment with Union Home Minister in this regard. According to letter, resident doctors working tirelessly in various hospitals have t received ir salaries for past three months.

"We have written a letter to Union Home Minister and request for appointment to discuss issue. Previously also doctors of rth Delhi Municipal Corporation were t getting salary. We request him to look into matter and intervene on an urgent basis so that our fellow colleagues get salary of last three months at earliest so that y can perform ir duties relentlessly without any stress, (sic)" DMA said.

letter also emphasised on how doctors are under immense mental stress due to n-payment of salaries, so are ir families as survival becomes difficult.

"Under such stressful situation, doctors have been put under avoidable additional mental stress and distractions due to n-payment of ir salaries. ir families are t able to cope with such adverse situation without money because like any or common man, y are also required to feed and sustain our families," DMA said.
