Anti-CAA protests, Stalin blames AIADMK and PMK
Stalin, Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly, also warned that protests would be intensified against new law if ruling BJP at Centre did t "pay heed" to opposition parties' proposed rally here on December 23 against CAA. Speaking at a Christmas event in his Kolathur constituency, Stalin recalled his party had voted against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Rajya Sabha, although BJP "has brutal strength" in Lok Sabha. He said ruling AIADMK and PMK, both NDA constituents, had voted in favour of bill n, w an act.
" legislation could have been stopped n itself had 11 Rajya Sabha members of AIADMK, ruling party in Tamil Nadu, and one PMK member, had voted against bill along with five DMK MPs," he said.

"And it is because y voted in its favour, t just Tamil Nadu, but entire country is burning.. re are riots. se 12 Rajya Sabha members (from AIADMK and PMK) are reason that India is burning," he said.
That is why "so many riots, protests, demonstrations" and or forms of anti-CAA agitations were happening across country, Stalin said. Referring to his party's proposed December 23 protest, he said plans were afoot to hold it in a grand manner, with DMK's allies joining it. "If Central government does t pay heed to that, we will soon organise next protest," he added. On December 12, CAA had passed Rajya Sabha test, with 125 votes in favour and 105 against it, with BJP romping home with support of AIADMK, JD-U, SAD, BJD, TDP and YSR Congress Party.
