Doctor Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances in Bengal's Jhargram

The body of a doctor working with the Jhargram Medical College and Hospital was on Thursday recovered from inside the room of a rented flat which he shared with his coworkers, police said.

Jhargram: body of a doctor working with Jhargram Medical College and Hospital was on Thursday recovered from inside room of a rented flat which he shared with his coworkers, police said.

Two syringes and a te, allegedly written by deceased doctor, identified as Dipro Bhattacharya, who was in his early 30s and working as a senior resident with hospital’s anaessia department since 2023, were also recovered from inside flat.

Till reports last received, police h moved body for autopsy.

" body of doctor was found on bed of flat where he was staying with ar doctor. We got a call from m in afteron after y discovered him lying on bed and could t find any pulse on him. We have recovered two syringes and a hand-written te lying next to him. matter seems to be a case of suicide, but it will be clear once post-mortem examination is done," a senior police officer of Jhargram District Police told PTI.

police officer said, "We are verifying wher or t two messs sent from his device were actually written by him. But, it seems from our preliminary probe, doctor was mentally depressed probably due to issues which were related to his professional, personal and family lives," police officer said.

A nurse from Jhargram Medical College, who is a friend of Bhattacharya's wife, along with two or doctors reached his flat after calls to his number remained unanswered and took assistance of staff of lodge to break lock to entrance to his flat.

"y found him lying unconscious on bed. y found pulse on him and n informed us," officer said.

In mess allegedly sent by doctor to his wife, deceased sought forgiveness for taking this drastic measure and urged her to move on with her life.

A senior medic in state, who is also a member of WhatsApp group of doctors, claimed that in his alleged mess, Bhattacharya expressed his disgust over RG Kar Medical College incident.

Asked wher Bhattacharya's death was fallout of a "threat culture" allegedly practised at Jhargram Medical College and Hospital, police officer said that y were talking to his roommate, wife, and colleagues at hospital to ascertain those possibilities.
