Don't want L-G Kiran Bedi to be a rubber stamp: Puducherry CM

Continuing his tire against Lt Goverr Kiran Bedi, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Tuesday said she was "standing in way of" welfare of people and "prevented without exception" all welfare measures decided upon by elected government." dressing reporters on premises of Assembly here, Chief Minister, who has been at loggerhes with former IPS officer on several ministrative issues, said, "I never want Lt Goverr to be a rubber stamp. "But I would only expect her to function within provisions of rules and statutes governing ministration."

Chief Minister charged Bedi with "acting in violation"
Since last three years she h been "interfering" in routine ministration and also acting against statutory provisions, he alleged. He also listed various matters including free rice scheme in which Lt Goverr was obstructing implementation of decisions of elected government. Chief Minister charged Bedi with "acting in violation" of ruling of Mras High court that a Lt Goverr should t intervene in working of elected government given in a writ petition filed by Parliamentary Secretary to Chief Minister in April this year.

Bedi accused of functioning in an "autocratic" manner
Narayanasamy accused Bedi of functioning in an "autocratic" manner without concern for development of Union Territory, for welfare of poor, industrial workers and weaker sections. He hit out at NDA government at Centre for "opting a step-morly treatment" towards Puducherry as sufficient funds were earmarked to meet our commitments.
Chief Minister said he h represented to Prime Minister several times and also to Home and Finance Minister bringing to ir attention "piquant situation" prevailing in Puducherry. "Despite several odds, we have however ensured good progress raising scale of achievements in Health, Education and or sectors," he said.
