On 25 January, Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted successful maiden launch of Akash-NG (New Generation) Missile from Integrated Test Range off coast of Odisha. It is a new generation Surface to Air Missile meant for use by Indian Air Force.

According to Ministry of Defence, missile intercepted target with textbook precision. During trajectory, launch met all test objectives by performing high maeuvres. onboard avionics and aerodynamic configuration of missile and performance of command and control system were successfully validated during trial. multi-function rar was tested for its capability of integration with system. With better deployability compared to or similar systems with canisterized launcher and much smaller ground system footprint, Akash-NG system has been developed.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated scientists from DRDO, BEL and team from Indian Air Force for this achievement. Secretary DD R&D and Chairman DRDO Dr G Saesh Reddy congratulated team for successful flight trial of Akash NG Missile.

CRPF, DRDO Launch Bike Ambulance 'RAKSHITA' On Jan 18
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) launched a specially developed 'RAKSHITA'- a bike ambulance for urgent evacuation needs of security forces. It was launched on January 18 in Delhi. A CRPF official said that se bikes will give assistant to CRPF jawans and paramedics in case of any injuries during encounters.
