Drone Down: BSF Recovers China-Made UAV In Punjab’s Amritsar
In a joint operation, a China-made drone was recovered by Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police in Mahwa village of Amritsar district.
Amritsar: In a joint operation, a China-made drone was recovered by Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police in Mahwa village of Amritsar district, an official statement said on Monday.
In an official statement, BSF said, "The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, on September 23, acting on information from the BSF intelligence wing regarding the presence of drone in the border area of district Amritsar, BSF troops, in collaboration with Punjab Police, carried out an extensive search in the suspected area."
BSF said that the drone was found on Monday evening. troops successfully recovered one drone from a farming field adjacent to Mahwa village in Amritsar District.
"This drone is presumed to be technically neutralized due to activation of BSF's technical countermeasures deployed in border area," BSF said.
Earlier on September 12, a joint operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police led to the recovery of a drone carrying 6.230 kg of suspected heroin in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab. Just a few days earlier, on September 9, BSF troops had seized 1.180 kilograms of suspected heroin in the border area of Amritsar district.
