Durga Puja come to an end, as Kolkata bids adieu to celebrations
The festivities of Durga Puja came to an end on Tuesday with people in Bengal queuing up near river banks and lakes for the immersion of Goddess Durga's idols.

Devotees chanted 'Asche Bochor Abar Hobe' (till next year) while bidding its adieu to Goddess Durga and festival. According to reports, over 1,000 idols were to be immersed at various ghats of Ganges. To help lift and extricate remains of idols, heavy cranes were seen during immersion process.
Tight security during festival
According to reports, Kolkata Police had made security arrangements for safe and peaceful celebrations on occasion of Vijayadashami. CCTV cameras were installed everywhere to keep a tab on safety. Furr reports stated that besides police, authorities from state civil defence, civic bodies and Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) were also deployed to monitor situation strongly.

Mamata Banerjee wishes people
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday wished people on occasion of 'Vijaya Dashami' and Dusherra. Taking it to Twitter, she greeted everyone in India and across world. Bengali part of tweet translates to, "Today is Vijaya Dashmi. Best wishes to mors of Bengal, soil, people and all those living in different parts of country and abroad."
