The locals of Bengaluru city celebrate the festival of Dussehra with unparallel warmth and devotion. Starting every winter, Dussehra in South India is celebrated by honouring the various avatars of Goddess Durga, showcasing an artistic display of the Gombe Habba dolls. Popularly known as Dussehra dolls, the Gombe Habba dolls are placed on nine steps, which marks the celebration of nine days of the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. Goddesses like Shakthi, Vani and Shri are honoured with great enthusiasm and devotion during the nine days of Navratri. With intricate designs of Kolam (Rangoli) being drawn on the floor and Prasadam being prepared, Dussehra is marked as one of the most auspicious festivals in the Kannada calendar.
