DYFI activist stabbed to death in Kerala

A 30-year-old Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) activist was stabbed to death allegedly by a group of people at Kalloravi in Kanhang municipality in this rth Kerala district, police said on Thursday.

deceased, Ouf Abdul Rahman was an active worker of DYFI, youth wing of ruling CPI(M).

According to reports, activists of Youth League, youth wing of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), were behind incident though police was yet to confirm it. Police said incident took place when Rahman and three of his friends were on ir way to Bavanagar in two bikes.

However, IUML state leership rejected charges and demanded an unbiased probe into incident.

Senior IUML leer K P A Majeed described incident as 'unfortunate' and claimed that party's local leership here denied involvement of its workers in crime.
