'Earth Anthem' penned by Indian diplomat Abkay K in 2008 translated into Somali

Written by Indian diplomat and poet Abhay Kumar, Earth Anthem has so far been translated into more than 140 languages with Somali being the most recent addition

Originally written by Indian diplomat and poet, Abhay Kumar in English, 'Earth Anm' has w been translated into Somali by Somali Academy of Science and Arts. With this, poem has so far been translated into more than 140 langus across world.  celebratory song which is inspired by Sanskrit phrase Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam means “ world is one family.”

Furrmore, a line from poem which reads “United we stand as flora and fauna/ United we stand as species of one Earth", expresses solidarity with all livings species on Earth and furr calls for protecting rich biodiversity on Earth.

tably, Earth Anm calls for unity of all species on this planet and aims to raise awareness among all people to fight crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution.  poem also calls people to rise over ir differences and stay united to save  planet for coming generations. It also emphasises understanding symbiosis or mutual interdependence between humans and or species. 

Abhay K and 'Earth Anm'

Abhay Kumar who has worked several on discreet diplomatic capabilities in countries including Russia, Madagascar, Nepal, penned  poem while he was serving in Russian city of St. Petersburg in 2008 and was later released at Indian Council of Cultural Relation, New Delhi in 2013. Since n, poem has t only been translated into a series of langus but has also been performed across countries on several occasions including World Environment Day and Earth Day.

Earlier in 2020, it was played at United Nations for marking 50 years of Earth Day celebrations. Also, it was performed by National Symphony Orchestra of Brasilia in 2018.
