Ranchi: An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 on the Richter scale hit parts of Jharkhand on Saturday morning, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.
According to the NCS, the tremors were felt at around 9.20am.

The epicentre of the earthquake was located in Khunti district, around 35 km from the state's capital Ranchi.
The depth of the quake was 5 kilometres.

"EQ of M: 3.6, On: 02/11/2024 09:20:43 IST, Lat: 23.05 N, Long: 85.59 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Khunti, Jharkhand (sic)," the NCS tweeted.
A tremor was also felt in Jamshedpur and Kandra of Seraikela-Kharswan district.

However, there were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property.
