Guwahati: An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter Scale hit Tezpur in Assam in the early hours of Wednesday, the National Center for Seismology said.
According to NCS, the quake took place at 5.53am. The epicentre of the earthquake was located 42km east of Tezpur at a depth of 20km.
The NCS on X said,"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.4, Occurred on 27-12-2023, 05:55:35 IST, Lat: 26.70 & Long: 93.22, Depth: 20 Km ,Location: 42km E of Tezpur, Assam (sic)." However, there were no immediate reports of any damages.
