Elgaar Parishad case: DU Prof Babu's house raided over Maoist links
DU professor Hany Babu's house in Noida has been raided by Pune police for Maoist links in the Elgaar Parishad case; electronic devices have been recovered

In a new development in 2017 Elgaar Parish case, Pune police on Tuesday has conducted searches at residence of Delhi University (DU) professor Hany Babu in ida in Uttar Presh for alleged Maoist links. Babu, d 45 years, teaches English at Delhi University.
"We have conducted a search operation at Hany Babu's residence in ida in connection with Elgar Parish case registered at Vishrambaug police station in Pune," Assistant Commissioner of Police Shivaji Pawar said, as reported by PTI.

He ded that police h recovered some electronic devices, but arrest h been me so far.

Koregaon Bhima Violence
Elgar conclave was held at historic Shaniwar Wa in Pune on December 31, 2017, ahe of 200th anniversary of battle of Koregaon Bhima.

In 1818 Koregaon-Bhima battle, n Peshwa rulers were defeated by British army comprising a large number of Dalit soldiers. Every year, battle anniversary is marked by thousands of Dalits marching from Pune to war memorial at Koregaon-Bhima.
According to police, speeches me at Elgar conclave aggravated caste violence around Koregaon Bhima vill in district of Pune on January 1, 2018, in which one person, identified as 28-year-old Rahul Fatangale from Nanded, was killed and many ors were injured.

In vember last year, Maharashtra police filed a 5,600-p charge sheet at a Pune court. y filed evidence including purported seizures from raids on activists, letters, call record details, statements of police officers, and people involved in organization of Elgar Parish. It went beyond caste violence and alleged a Maoist conspiracy to st violent attacks, including a plot to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Police h recovered some documents which talked about a plot to assassinate PM Modi in a way similar to that of that of Rajiv Gandhi's assassination.
Sudhir Dhavale, Rona Wilson, Surendra Gling, Shoma Sen, Mahesh Raut, and ors were arrested on charges of inciting Koregaon-Bhima riots. Police have so far arrested nine persons in case.

Stan Swamy’s house raid
In June this year, a team of Pune Police led by Assistant Commissioner Shivaji Pawar raided Stan Swamy’s house and seized digital devices and or material from spot. According to Pune Police, Stan Swamy was in touch with accused persons in case. Incriminating documents and electronic devices including a hard disk have been recovered from his Jharkhand home.
