'Ensure jawans get 100 days annually to stay with family': Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) like CRPF, BSF and ors to undertake a mega manpower planning and ensure that around 7 lakh jawans get to spend at least 100 days with ir families in a year, officials said on Thursday. y said Shah was given a presentation last month about functioning of CAPFs in ministry, following which he directed that deployment details of troops of se forces should be "digitised" so that better manpower rationalisation can be done.

Home Ministry's mess to CAPFs

Union Home Ministry has w asked all chiefs or Directors General (DG) of forces like CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles to undertake exercise and implement a regime where a jawan or a constable gets to stay with his family for about 100 days, officials said. This means that jawans will be posted to ir nearest units and y can travel and stay with ir families when re are operational exigencies, a senior official said. In order to achieve this, he said that force chiefs have been asked to assess and prepare reports of ir ditional manpower so that over-all deployment of a CAPF unit is t affected.
