Caught Red-Handed, Epileptic Thief Faints While Being Chased by Mob in Bengal

Kolkata: In a dramatic turn of events, a thief involved in a temple heist in West Bengal, fell unconscious after suffering an epileptic attack while he was being chased by people, as per media reports.
The thief, accompanied by his associate, stole utensils, a stove and a gas cylinder from a temple in Chuchura area in Hooghly district. After fainting, he was hospitalised.

The locals were taken by surprise as they saw the thief trembling after falling on the ground in an unconscious state. Soon after, the mob informed the police about the incident and rushed the accused to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, the another theft fled the scene.
After regaining consciousness, the thief was discharged from the hospital. Subsequently, he was arrested by the police and sent behind bars.

Reports suggested that a probe revealed that the thief was a patient with epilepsy and suffered an attack duE to nervousness given a large mob chased him after he was caught red-handed.
The investigation further revealed that the thieves, residents of Naihati in North 24 Parganas, were drug-addicts and they had come to Hooghly for carrying out thefts at houses and temples in Chuchura.

The other accused is still at large and police have launched a manhunt to track him down.
Thief Falls Asleep Inside House
In a separate incident in Lucknow, a man, who entered a house for carrying out theft, fell asleep inside. As per the police, the man was heavily drunk and fell asleep inside the house upon finding an air conditioner and turning it on. The incident was reported at Indiranagar area of the city. The man was later arrested by the police.
