Erode Shocker: Government School Teacher Dies After Collapsing in Class
A teacher and a BMTC driver both tragically passed away from sudden heart attacks, sparking concerns over increasing cases of unexpected cardiac deaths.

Erode: Reports of sudden deaths due to heart attacks are increasing. In a recent incident, a 49-year-old teacher passed away from cardiac arrest while teaching at a Panchayat Union Middle School in Sundarpur district.
The incident occurred as Anthony Gerald, a resident of Boothapandi village near Ammapet, suddenly felt chest pain. He sat down and then collapsed while conducting a class for fourth-grade students. The students quickly alerted the Headmaster, who rushed Gerald to a nearby doctor. After examination, the doctor confirmed that Gerald had passed away from cardiac arrest.

School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi expressed his condolences to Gerald’s family on Thursday. Teachers and parents gathered that morning to pay their last respects, honouring the late teacher’s dedication and service to his students and community.
BMTC Driver Died While Driving Bus
In another tragic incident just a day earlier, a viral video captured the moment a BMTC driver suffered a heart attack while driving a bus. The driver, Kiran Kumar, collapsed at the wheel, but the conductor, Obalesh, took control of the steering and safely parked the bus, preventing any accidents.

Kumar was driving vehicle number KA 57 F-4007 on route 256 M/1 during its final trip from Nelamangala to Dasanapura. Obalesh quickly transported Kumar to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had passed away from a heart attack.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely demise of Kiran Kumar, a driver from Depot 40, who passed away due to a sudden heart attack on November 6,” stated the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), extending its deepest condolences to Kumar’s family.
