EU delegation to visit Kashmir; meet PM Modi and NSA Doval in Delhi

Days before official bifurcation of J&K into two union territories, a Kashmir delegation from the European Union (EU) will visit Kashmir and met PM Modi today

Days before official bifurcation of state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories, a Kashmir delegation from European Parliament will visit Kashmir on Tuesday. Sources informed that 28-member European delegation has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Security visor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Monday in Delhi. This is first time that India has allowed an international delegation to visit Kashmir after revocation of Article 370 in August this year.

Congress attempts to internationalise Kashmir

On October 10, Congress's overseas delegation met United Kingdom's Labour party leer Jeremy Corbyn over situation in Kashmir. While Corbyn after meeting Congress delegation said that Pakistan it was 'productive meeting with UK representatives from Indian Congress Party where we discussed human rights situation in Kashmir,' Congress took a U-turn. Releasing a statement, it said that Congress' delegation met Corbyn to oppose Kashmir resolution of Labour party and to state that it is India's 'internal matter'.

Jammu and Kashmir situation

With days left for Jammu and Kashmir to be a union territory officially, Centre has said that situation after abrogation of Article 370 is slowly restoring to rmal. It has said that people of  Kashmir have accepted decision. While re has been an increase in vehicular traffic on ro, public transport is still t functional.  communication blocke still prevails in valley, while landline and postpaid connections have been restored in parts of Kashmir. Schools and universities have reopened, however, re is a lack of attendance, as per reports. However, re has been repeated ceasefire violation by Pakistani side and Pakistan army continues to attack civilians along Line of Control (LoC).
