Farmer leaders call for maximum participation in December 8 'Bharat Bandh'

Farmers camping at Singhu border protesting the Centre's new agriculture laws on Sunday sought maximum participation from all quarters in the 'Bharat Bandh' called on December 8 and said over 250 farmers from Gujarat will be coming to the national capital to join the stir.

Farmers camping at Singhu border protesting Centre's new agriculture laws on Sunday sought maximum participation from all quarters in 'Bharat Bandh' called on December 8 and said over 250 farmers from Gujarat will be coming to national capital to join stir.

Farmer leers at border also welcomed support extended by a number of political parties and called upon all ors to come forward and support 'Bharat Bandh' on Tuesday.

"This agitation is t only of Punjab farmers but is of entire nation. We are going to strengn our agitation and it has alrey spre across nation. Since government was t able to deal with us properly, we gave a call for 'Bharat Bandh'. During yesterday's meeting, even ministers were upset with our call for 'Bharat bandh'," farmer leer Baldev Singh Yav said at a press conference.

"We have anunced 'Bharat Bandh' on December 8, which will start in morning and continue till evening. During which, shops and businesses will remain shut. Ambulances and emergency work will be exempted from Bandh. Also, 250 farmers from Gujarat will be coming to Delhi to join protest," he ded.

Yav also appealed to everyone to make sure that 'Bharat Bandh' remains peaceful.

"We won't let anyone turn it violent and would take strict action against m. We request everyone to be part of bandh," he said.

Thousands of farmers protesting Centre's new farm laws stayed put on borders of Delhi with Haryana and Uttar Presh as y threatened to intensify ir agitation and block more ros leing to national capital if government did t accept ir demands.

Swaraj India party president Yogendra Yav said, "We have always stood firm on our stand. We have always demanded that government take back all three farm laws. We have t changed our stand. We are firm on it".

"Many organisations from Maharashtra and or states are also supporting Bharat Bandh. Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan will witness closure of all mandis but weddings would be exempted from bandh. Many political parties have extended ir support to us and we urge everyone to participate in bandh," he said.
