Farmer Unions to meet again on Saturday; indicate resumption of dialogue with government

Some of the farmer unions indicated that they may resume their dialogue with the Centre to find a solution to the ongoing deadlock over the three farm laws

Some of farmer unions indicated that y may decide to resume ir dialogue with Centre to find a solution to ongoing delock over three contentious farm laws. According to PTI, one of farmer union leers said that ir demand for a legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) will, however, remain same.

Farmer Unions to meet again 

Speaking furr, farmer union leer said that  government's letters have proposals and this is why y may decide to hold fresh talks and make it understand ir demands. Ar leer said, "MSP cant be separated from our demand of repealing se three laws. In se farm laws, re is mention about private mandis. Who will ensure that our crop is sold at fixed MSP if it is t re?"

Earlier on Thursday, Joint Secretary in Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Vivel Aggrawal wrote to protesting union and invited m for fresh talks, but me it clear that it would t be "logical" to include in nda any dew demand related to MSP, which is out of purview of 3 contentious farm bills.

Farmers' protest enters day 31

Thousands of agitating farmers at Delhi's borders on Thursday remained stefast in ir demand to repeal Centre's three new agricultural laws. Security remained tight at Delhi borders with hundreds of personnel deployed at Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri where thousands of farmers have been staging ir protests for nearly a month w. However, amid rampant politicisation of se groups' demands and Supreme Court also hearing petitions related to matter, several farmer groups from various states have also backed agriculture reforms.

Earlier on Wednesday, anti-reform farmers hardened ir position and asked government t to repeat proposal of "meaningless" amendments that y have alrey rejected but come up with a "concrete" offer in writing for resumption of talks. Reing out a reply to government's talks offer during a press conference, farmer leers said y are rey for dialogue with an open mind if y get a concrete proposal, but me it clear y will t accept anything less than a complete repeal of three agriculture laws and legal guarantee for MSP.
