'Farmers forced to agitate as Opposition in country is weak,' says BKU's Rakesh Tikait
Calling the farmers' protest an 'ideological revolution, Tikat said, "If the opposition would have played its role, the farmers would not have to agitate."

Amid long-standing delock over Farm Laws and agitation which has lasted over 50 days, Bhartiya Kisan Union's (BKU) Rakesh Tikait jibed that if 'Opposition h played its role, farmers today would t have to sit on protest.' Calling farmers' protest an 'ideological revolution, Tikat said, "If opposition would have played its role, farmers would t have to agitate. opposition of this country is weak, hence farmers are forced to agitate." BKU spokesperson also confirmed that farmers would continue to sit at Delhi birders, till three Farm Laws were t repealed.
"If a few lakh farmers are camping at borders of Delhi, why is government t repealing Farm Laws? I think agitation will continue... Protesting farmers will t return to ir homes till new farm laws are repealed," he said claiming that more than 550 farmers unions of nation h joined movement.

BKU's warning ahe of R-Day
Earlier in day, BKU issued a warning to Uttar Presh Government, saying that if y tried to stop ir tractor rally on January 26, y will push Zila hes into 'house arrest'. "Till January 26, all farmers will stay on ros, as per instructions of Rakesh Tikait. We are all prepared with our women, children, and tractors. We will start off on January 24-25 only. If y try to stop us y can put us behind bars orwise we will put every Zila he under house arrest. All captains of Zila who are troubling us can eir let us pass, or put us in jail orwise every SSP of Zilas, be it Bulandshahr or Gautam Buddh Nagar, will we keep m hidden in ir homes," said BKU District President (Bulandshahr) Guddu Prhan.
With 10 rounds of Centre-farmer talks ending in a stalemate, Supreme Court-appointed panel is all set to hold its first meeting over three Farm Laws on January 19. This also comes against backdrop of recusal of BKU President Bhupinder Singh Mann from SC panel which has left 4-member committee standing with three members namely-- agricultural ecomist Ashok Gulati, Pramod Kumar Joshi- Director, South Asia, International Food Policy Research Institute, and Shetkari Sanghatana president, Anil Ghanwat. Farmer Union BKU has also moved SC against panel.
