Pune Porsche Crash: Back-to-Back Arrests Follow Teen's Quick Bail, Crime Branch Takes Over

The father of the Pune teen, whose Porsche knocked down and killed two techies, has been arrested from Maharashtra's Aurangabad.

Mumbai: Pune Police on Tuesday arrested far of a 17-year-old boy who was involved in a fatal car accident that resulted in deaths of two techies. teen's far, Vishal Agarwal, was arrested from Sambhajinagar area of Maharashtra's Aurangab based on a case registered against him on Monday. Meanwhile, Pune Police's crime branch has also arrested manr and owners of pub – Prahl Bhuta, Sachin Katkar and Sandeep Sangle from Koregaon Park area of city. A case was registered against this accused in Pune Police for serving alcohol to a mir.

Police h registered a case against teenr's far, a real estate developer, under sections 75 and 77 of Juvenile Justice Act, and against owners and staff members of bar establishment for serving alcohol to an under person. probe in se cases has been transferred to crime branch, an official earlier said.

Section 75 deals with "willful neglect of a child, or exposing a child to mental or physical illnesses," while section 77 deals with supplying a child with intoxicating liquor or drugs.

According to FIR lodged in connection with incident, man, despite kwing his son did t have a valid driving license, gave him car, thus endangering latter's life, and allowed him to party even as far knew that he consumes liquor.

Maharashtra CM directs for strict action

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fnavis have instructed for stringent action in case. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said, " chief minister, deputy chief minister and home minister (Fnavis), and (Pune) guardian minister (Deputy CM Ajit Pawar) have given clear instructions to police to take stringent action in this case. state Director General of Police has also instructed for strong action."

He dressed public's concerns that police were t taking equate action in case. Kumar affirmed that both government and police were committed to take stringent measures against those responsible for incident.

On allegations of "preferential treatment" being given to juvenile while in custody after incident, Kumar said stringent action will be taken against police personnel if y are found to be aiding teenr directly or indirectly.

Accused Granted Bail Within Hours

juvenile accused who was arrested was granted bail by Juvenile Justice Board within 15 hours of incident, imposing several conditions, which include, accused should work with traffic police of Yerawa for 15 days, accused should write an essay on accident, should get treatment from concerned doctor to help him quit drinking and should take psychiatric counselling and submit report.
