Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to Present 7th Consecutive Union Budget, a New Record
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present her seventh Union Budget this year; she will be the first Finance Minister in history to do so.

New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present her seventh Union Budget on July 23 as the Monsoon Session of Parliament begins on July 22.
Nirmala Sitharaman will be the first Finance Minister in Indian history to present seven consecutive budgets. Nirmala Sitharaman is the first full-time woman Finance Minister of India, a position she assumed in May 2019. Sitharaman presented the government's first Budget of its second term on July 5, 2019.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman To Script History, Surpass Morarji Desai's Record
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be surpassing Morarji Desai's record who had presented six consecutive budgets during his tenures.
Desai was Finance Minister from 1959 to 1964 and delivered five full budgets and one interim budget.

Union Budget 2024: Date and Time
The Union Budget 2024 will be presented on July 23, during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which begins on July 22 and concludes on August 12.
Similar to recent full Union Budgets, the 2024 Budget will also be presented in a paperless format.

FM To Present Economic Survey on July 22
On Monday, July 22, Finance Minister Sitharaman will also present the Economic Survey in Parliament, a day ahead of the Union Budget. The survey will provide a comprehensive assessment of the economy's performance and a growth outlook for the future. It includes detailed statistical information and analysis on various sectors, covering employment, GDP growth, inflation, and the budget deficit.

An Interim Union Budget for 2024 was introduced on February 1, preceding the general elections. The Finance Ministry has wrapped up several rounds of discussions with various economic stakeholders in preparation for the budget. Since June 20, Sitharaman has engaged with representatives from trade unions, education and health sectors, MSMEs, economists, and others to gather input on key budgetary issues.
