Firecrackers Stored Illegally At Cowshed In Tamil Nadu's Sivakasi Explode, Two Injured

Virudhunagar: Two people were severely injured after firecrackers stored illegally in a cowshed exploded near the Sivakasi area of the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu.

According to police, two injured individuals are undergoing treatment in the Sivakasi government hospital.

The Vembakkottai police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

"Two people were seriously injured when firecrackers stored illegally in a cowshed near Sivakasi exploded. The injured are undergoing treatment in the Sivakasi government hospital. The Vembakkottai police have registered a case and are investigating the incident," said fire and rescue department of Sivakasi.

Earlier in July, two people died in an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing factory near Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu. 

Two other persons who sustained injuries in the incident have been admitted to the Sivakasi government hospital for treatment, the Fire Department said.

In February of this year too, a total of 10 people were killed following a massive explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in the Virudhnagar district.
