Five sanitation workers died after inhaling toxic fumes while cleaning a sewer near DLF flats in Moti Nagar area in Delhi. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when all the five people aged between 22 and 30 years went to clean the sewer.

While two of m died on spot, or three bread ir last in Delhi's Deen Dayal Uphyay Hospital.
"This is t first incident such incident has taken place in city. Aam Ami Party (AAP) Government is clearly responsible for this incident. y h promised that techlogies will be used for cleaning of sewer, but even after so many deaths, same old methods are being used. y are playing with lives of incents'," said Bharat Bhushan Man, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Karol Bagh district president.
Sunita Mishra, Councillor of ward 99, where incident took place, also condemned incident and demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh each for families of deceased.

Earlier this year, three labourers were asphyxiated after inhaling poisous gases while cleaning a sewer at Gurugram's Khandsa area. labourers h gone to clean sew of JNJ Electronics Ltd.when incident took place. This company deals with painting of two-wheelers. deceased have been identified as Rinku, Rajkumar and Ninna. three labourers got into sew only to help Binish who was in trouble.

A local present at accident site said, " incident occurred at around 4-5 p.m. in evening, but one from police, who came at site, r city magistrate, did anything. condition here is so worse."
After multiple deaths in capital, in August, authorities in Delhi decided to fully mechanise cleaning sewers and penalise ncies continuing manual cleaning and giving punishment up to life imprisonment.
