As farmers held a 3-hour 'Chakka Jam' across India, a flag bearing a portrait resembling Khalistani terrorist Bhindranwale was spotted on a tractor in Ludhiana on Saturday. Chakka jam was held peacefully across India in Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu, Maharashtra, Tamil Nu, Andhra Presh etc. Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale - brains behind 'Khalistan' demand - was killed by Indian Army as part of Operation Blue Star in 1984 after he and his militants held a siege in Harmandir Sahib Complex in Amritsar.

'Bhindranwale' flag spotted 

This development comes after pro-Khalistani group Poetic Justice Foundation (PJF) founder Mo Dhaliwal's video talking about 'repealing India's Farm Laws' surfaced on Friday. Shared by ANI, undated video shows Dhaliwal claiming that 'repealing of farm laws was beginning of battle'. Naming Khalistan movement, he claimed that all movements from Farm Bill protest to Khalistan movement were all 'part of same struggle'. Delhi police is probing into issue.

umbrella body for farmers' protest, Sanyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) called for a 3-hour 'Chakka Jam' from 12 on to 3 PM on Saturday, across India except Delhi, Uttar Presh and Uttarakhand.  BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said that sugar-cane farmers from UP and Uttarakhand were inconvenienced- opting to issue a memorandum to state government detailing ir demands, hence two states were exempted. Tikait said that farmers will provide food and water to people stuck in traffic, while explaining to m 'what Govt was doing to m'.

Reports state that re is growing resentment against BJP among Jat farmers from Western UP, who h voted for Modi government in 2019. With most panchayats boycotting BJP leers from ir Mahapanchayats, reports state that BJP is trying to reach out to farmers ahe of UP polls 2022. MHA has cut off internet at Tikri, Ghazipur, and Singhu areas till Sunday.

Centre-Farmer talks stall

After 11 rounds of Centre-farmer talks, two parties failed to reach a middle ground on Friday after a five-hour meeting with associations refusing to agree to Centre's proposal for suspending implementation of aforesaid legislation for one and a half years. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar categorically said that Union government is rey for ar meeting only if farmers want to discuss this proposal. Supreme Court has stayed three laws and constituted a 3-member panel to hold talks with farmers. While Centre has welcomed this move, farmers have refused to participate in it, insisting to talk only with Centre.
