New Delhi: After Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, made remarks on Monday over the traditional Halwa ceremony which is held before the Budget session, claiming that no OBC, Tribal and Dalit officer was a part of the event, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made an interesting reaction to senior Congress leader by doing “facepalm” (putting both hands on forehead) which has gone viral on the social media platforms. 

Participating in the debate, Rahul Gandhi said, "Budget ka halwa' is being distributed in this photo. I can't see one OBC or tribal or a Dalit officer in this. Desh ka halwa bant raha hai aur 73% hai hi nahi. 20 officers prepared the Budget of India...Hindustan ka halwa 20 logon ne baatne ka kaam kiya hai..."

After listening to Rahul Gandhi's remark, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman put both her hands on forehead.

Later in the debate, Rahul Gandhi also called out Finance Minister over her reaction on the caste census.

“Madam, this is not a matter to laugh. This will change the destiny of country,” Opposition leader said. 

Drawing parallels from the Mahabharata, the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, on Monday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party over the Union Budget and said that there's an atmosphere of fear in the country, adding that the country is now trapped in a "Chakravyuh of lotus," referring to the BJP's symbol.

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget on July 23 in the Parliament and made major announcements for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, including a boost in infrastructure and special financial support.The budget session of Parliament began on July 22 and, according to schedule, will end on August 12.
