Pannu plot accused Nikhil claims he was forced to eat beef in custody, put in solitary confinement

Nikhil Gupta, the Indian national accused by the United States of plotting the murder of Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, has taken legal action by filing a Habeas Corpus petition in the Supreme Court. Gupta seeks the intervention of the Indian Government to secure his release from prison in the Czech Republic.

According to the petition filed by Gupta's family on Friday morning, he alleges several violations during his detention in Czech custody. Gupta claims he was forced to consume beef and pork, directly conflicting with his devout Hindu and vegetarian beliefs. This alleged infringement on his religious rights forms a significant part of his plea for release.

Adding to his plea, Gupta highlights the "absence of an arrest warrant and lack of fair representation" during his detention. These claims raise concerns about the legal procedures followed in his case and the overall fairness of the process.
