Former Punjab DyCM Sukhjinder Randhawa's son faces assault charges after hotel clash

Udayveer Randhawa, son of former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and prominent Congress leer Sukhjinder Randhawa, has been booked in an assault case in Chandigarh on August 25. case, filed under sections 323, 341, and 506 of IPC, stems from a clash that occurred at a hotel in Sector 17.
Chandigarh police have taken action t only against Udayveer Randhawa but also against a law student Navreer Gill, invoking similar sections of IPC. incident was triggered by a confrontation between two parties at hotel. According to sources, Gill and his friends were at hotel for dinner when a dispute erupted. Gill claimed that while he was using washroom, he was allegedly attacked by Randhawa. Subsequently, he purportedly faced furr assault from Randhawa's family members as he exited washroom. It has come to light that this clash may have been fueled by an existing rivalry between two individuals.

Gill mand to flee from scene, but Randhawa and his associates reportedly caught up with him and allegedly subjected him to ar round of assault. In an unexpected turn of events, Gill claimed that he was coerced into a vehicle and taken to a police station, where pressure was exerted on him to settle matter out of court. However, he chose t to compromise and inste filed a formal complaint.
Randhawa also lodged a complaint against Gill, alleging that he was victim of an attack. local police swiftly responded to reports of altercation, with both parties having lodged cross-complaints against each or. A police official confirmed that matter is currently under investigation, with CCTV foot from hotel being closely examined to establish a clearer picture of incident.

Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, who was in Rajasthan at time, commented on incident, chalking it up to youthful behaviour. He expressed his willingness to cooperate with police investigation and take necessary action if his son is indeed found culpable.
