Four-month-old Tiger Cub Found Dead in MP's Pench National Park

Bhopal: A tiger cub, aged around four months, was found de in Pench Tiger Reserve in Mhya Presh’s Seoni district on Sunday, an official said.

reserve’s field director Devapras J said staff spotted carcass of big cat while patrolling in Ari buffer range.

All body parts of de tiger cub are intact, he said.

post-mortem on carcass will be done as per protocol laid down by National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). Samples of tiger cub’s organs are being sent for histopathological and forensic examinations, he said.

reason behind death would be known after post-mortem, official said, ding that tiger reserve staff and a dog squ are searching area for more clues.

matter is being thoroughly investigated, he said.

As per report ‘Status of Tigers: Co-predators & Prey in India-2022’, released by NTCA and Wildlife Institute of India, Mhya Presh h 785 tigers, highest in country, followed by Karnataka (563) and Uttarakhand (560).
