'Despicable Act of Cowardice': BJP Vows Harshest Response To Terror Attack in J&K's Ganderbal
"The dastardly terror attack on civilians in Gagangir, J&K, is a despicable act of cowardice," said Amit Shah.
Jammu: Issuing a stern warning to terrorists for carrying out a deadly attack on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Gagangir which claimed seven lives on Sunday, October 20, Union Home Minister has said that those involved in the attack will not be spared.
On Sunday evening, seven migrant workers were shot dead by terrorists in the Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. The attack car carried out near an under-construction tunnel, prompting immediate responses from security forces. Officials reported that the victims were part of a construction team working on the Z Morh tunnel, which is aimed to connect Gaganeer to Sonamarg in Central Kashmir. Following the shooting, security forces reached the attack site and cordoned off the area. Further security was beefed up at the hospital where the injured were admitted for treatment.
In a post on X, Amit Shah described the the terror attack on civilians as a “despicable act of cowardice.” Vowing harshest response from Indian security forces, the Union Minister said those involved in the terror plot will face consequences.
"The dastardly terror attack on civilians in Gagangir, J&K, is a despicable act of cowardice. Those involved in this heinous act will not be spared and will face the harshest response from our security forces," Amit Shah tweeted.
Shah also expresses condolences to the family of the deceased. “At this moment of immense grief, I extend my sincerest condolences to the families of the deceased. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” he further wrote.
Nitin Gadkari Condemns Terror Attack
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also condemned the terror attack on labourers and expresses grief over the deaths.
"I strongly condemn the horrific terror attack on innocent laborers in Gagangir, Sonamarg, Jammu & Kashmir, who were engaged in a vital infrastructure project," Gadkari tweeted.
"I offer my humble tribute to the martyred laborers and extend my deepest condolences to their families during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured for a swift and full recovery," he further wrote.
Meanwhile, J&K BJP leader Kavinder Gupta claimed that terrorists want to show their presence to create an atmosphere of fear in the UT following peaceful assembly elections.
BJP leader Kavinder Gupta said, " Election took place very well, perhaps that's why they (terrorists) want to show their presence...such incidents can create an atmosphere of fear...people need to be very careful..."
