Ganesh Visarjan 2019: Routes to avoid and diversions to follow
On account of Ganesh Visarjan in Mumbai, the police have issued a major traffic advisory; multiple roads in the metropolis will be partially or fully shutdown.

During Ganesh Visarjan, Mumbai city throngs with thousands of devotees and revelers taking to streets to bid ieu to Ganesh idols. Following this, traffic in metropolis usually takes a masive hit. visarjan processions are bound to disrupt traffic movement in city. Commuters also face some serious inconvenience. Hence, Mumbai Police has issued a traffic visory for a safe and easy travel for commuters.

visarjan is marked by immersion of Ganesh idols in several water bodies spre in and around Mumbai. According to reports, over 130 such Visarjan spots have been identified by police.

Hence, to ensure a smooth and free-flow of traffic, police have taken stringent measures for same. Traffic on major routes has been diverted to or ros which are also converted into 'one-way'.

Among many visarjan spots in Mumbai city, main ones are Girgaum Chowpatty, Juhu Beach, Shivaji Park, Mal T Junction, and Powai Lake. se are locations where maximum number of immersions take place in a single day. refore, Mumbai Police has decided to shut down more than 50 ros in city, so that commuters do t get stuck.
Mumbai Police even tweeted out a map which displays routes that Mumbaikars should avoid and diversions that y should follow.

Routes to avoid and diversions
At Girgaum Chowpatty, biggest Visarjan point in city, almost all streets leing to Marine Drive will be given access to immersion spot. Mumbaikars can expect a significant delay in traffic movement around this location. However, idols placed on trucks and carts will be expected to use two different sides for immersion. ones on carts and in cars have been provided s along left-side of Chowpatty and big idols like Lalbaug Cha Raja will be directed towards right side of Chowpatty near Nana-Nani Park.

In Central Mumbai's Dar, which is a major hub that connects to Western Suburbs of city, only processions are expected to make ir way through NC Kelkar Marg. All processions from areas like Parel will be directed towards Shivaji Park through NC Kelkar Marg. surrounding and nearby streets have been kept open and traffic has been diverted to or ros. However, still keeping in mind swelling visarjan crowds, some of ros have been marked ' Entry'.

In Kurla, traffic is expected to take a hit as one complete lane of LBS Marg has been dedicated to visarjan processions. However, apart from area near Sheetal Talao (Sheetal Lake), or ros will be free with a comparatively slow movement of traffic. In Powai, regular traffic will see a slower pace as devotees throng to Powai Lake for immersions. lane beside lake promene will be jammed, but Mumbai Police has ensured swift manment measures to tackle same.

Apart from this, Mumbai Police and BMC have installed several hundred towers. Over 50000 personnel have been deployed across city who will also be assisted by Scout Guide volunteers. Thousands of CCTV foot will be monitored by police authorities. According to reports, Mumbai Police has also decided to use drones for aerial surveillance of processions. BMC has also issued alerts for old bridges under risk of collapse.
