Samaresh Jung, Indian Pistol Coach To Bronze Medalists At Paris Olympics, Faces House Demolition

NEW DELHI: National pistol shooting coach Samaresh Jung, who trained Paris Olympics bronze medalists Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh, returned home to an unpleasant news as he received a demolition notice of his house and locality.

Jung along with or residents of Khyber Pass locality in Delhi received a notice from MCD which mentioned that area will be demolished since it belonged to Ministry of Defence and refore it was illegal.

According to new agency IANS, Jung said that he didn't know why this demolition was taking place. "It's in ir plan and I don't even know about it. y have declared entire colony illegal."

As per reports, notice has asked residents of locality to vacate area in two days.

Furr speaking on matter, Jung informed that his family has been living here for past 75 years since 1950s. y even went to court but petition was rejected.

Speaking about MCD notice asking residents to vacate society in just two days, Jung said that y want some more time as it's difficult. "You just cannot announce today that tomorrow you have to leave."

Expressing his anguish, Jung took to social media and wrote, "After euphoria of Indian shooters winning two Olympic medals, I, team coach, just returned home from Olympics to disheartening news that my house and locality is to be demolished in 2 days."

"re has been no proper information or notice. How can families living here since 75 years vacate in 2 days? It is shocking that @LDO_GoI makes a haphazard announcement of demolition with a notice of 2 days, without any clarity of exact area to be demolished," he ded.

"Being an Olympian and Arjuna Awardee, least I expect, along with community, is a dignified exit. I appeal for clarity on matter and at least 2 months to vacate properly," Jung concluded.
