CM Siddaramaiah Announces Compensation for Kin of Kannadigas Who Died in Kerala Landslides
According to government sources, at least six people from the state are feared dead in Monday’s landslide.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to families of Kannigas who died in landslides in neighbouring Kerala.

" death toll in Wayan landslide continues to rise. This is a very dely tragedy, fact that Kannigas lost ir lives in this tragedy me it even more painful," CM said in a post on ‘X’.
“ deceased Kannigas will be given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each. I pray that soul of deceased may rest in peace,” he said.

According to him, alrey two senior IAS officers of state, National Disaster Response Force team, and army teams are engaged in rescue work in Wayan.
Also, Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh L is being deputed to Wayan to take charge of rescue and relief operations.

“Saving lives of victims is our first priority and our government is working hard to bring Kannigas in distress safely to Karnataka,” Siddaramaiah ded.
