Ghaziabad residents will have to get a license of ₹5,000 to pet dogs
As per a new rule by the Municipal Corporation, residents of Ghaziabad will have to get a license worth ₹5,000 to pet a dog and pay 500 fine on open defecation.

As per a new rule by Municipal Corporation, residents of Ghaziab will have to get a registered license worth ₹5,000 to pet a dog. As per new tification by corporation, a fine of ₹500 will also be charged to people who let ir dog defecate in parks or on ros. This has come after numerous complaints that have been filed by people on menace caused by dogs in town. new tification also intends to keep a check on vaccination and cleanliness in city.
Statement from Mayor
Mayor of Ghaziab, Asha Sharma has given a statement on recently released rms about petting a dog. She said, “Acting on complaints filed to control menace of dogs and promote cleanliness in area, we have decided to keep license fees for owning a dog at ₹5,000. If a dog is found defecating in parks, a fine of ₹500 will be imposed on owner." Apart from this, Municipal Corporation has also decided to keep a check on dogs regarding vaccination, in order to prevent rabies.

Reaction of Residents

A resident of Ghaziab, Gurpreet Kaur said, “This decision of corporation will make it difficult for people with low monthly income and if fee is to be kept, n that amount should be reduced." She furr ded that those people who opt dogs will w think twice before owning a pet. Delhi and Gurugram, on or hand, have alrey tified rules regarding pet ownership. annual registration fee is ₹500 in both Delhi and Gurugram. However, implementation of se new rules in Ghaziab will be a big challenge for municipal corporation to prepare pet lovers and owners for registration.
