Union minister Giriraj Singh has supported Assam government's policy to introduce two-child rm and attacked AIUDF chief Bruddin Ajmal for opposing it and called him a "vote ka saudagar ".
Giririraj Singh who has been vocating for quite some time regarding 2 child rm and to introduce a national population policy, said: "I don't understand what has happened to se people. When re are issues like NRC y will stand against it. y are trers of vote and ir shops should be closed. y should stop this. When a politician can stand for tukde tukde gang, I am t surprised by this statement of Bruddin Ajmal. Rahul Gandhi supported Afzal guru. For se politicians, vote is more important than country. I have been speaking about population control. I will do a Jan Jagran for population control soon." Giriraj Singh has also been demanding option of NRC in Bihar, as soon as possible. But JDU has been opposing it.

RJD MP Maj Jha said: "We strongly condemn Bruddin Ajmal's statement. First, re should be a debate in parliament on 2 child rm. If possible a dedicated session should be called to discuss various aspects of demography. Most importantly, tribal communities are on verge of extinction. As far as NRC is concerned it should t be a heartless bureaucratic exercise, driven solely by a sectarian and narrow-minded ideology which affected both Hindus and Muslims."

On proposal of Assam government to bring a legislation for 2 child rm, AIUDF chief Bruddin Ajmal said that laws will have impact, Muslims will continue to have children as many as y want. He went on to say: " PM himself is 5th-6th child among his bror and sister. H PM Modi's, brors and sisters, t taken birth, re won't be any Narendra Modi. Even CM Sowal is at 5th number among children of his parents. If Assam govt wants to bring out this rule n people will better stay without PM and CM. Islam does t allow this. We don't have restrictions and neir we expect that Muslims will get any govt jobs."
