Upset Over Boyfriend's Marriage, Girl Commits Suicide

Pilibhit: A young woman from Amaria in Pilibhit district died during treatment in Bareilly after allegedly consuming poison due to distress caused by her lover's “deceit” and recent marri to ar woman, police said on Thursday.
According to local police, troubled by her lover's “infidelity”, woman consumed poison on Wednesday evening and went directly to Amaria police station.

As her condition worsened, she was taken to district hospital from where she was referred to Bareilly where she died during treatment.

On Thursday, a police officer said woman told cops that she consumed poison as she was hurt by her lover's deceit and his recent marri to ar woman.

Reacting to matter, Samajwi Party President Akhilesh Yav slammed law and order in Uttar Presh under Yogi ityanath -led BJP government, alleging "massive corruption from top to bottom" in UP Police.

Demanding an investigation into matter, former Uttar Presh chief minister said in a post on X, "It is a very s incident that a rape victim from Pilibhit committed suicide by consuming poison after months of frustration, being upset with corrupt and inhuman behaviour of police under BJP rule which is involved in massive corruption from top to bottom. proof of this is recorded in video given by deceased." "Will BJP members want to make any big statement on 'women's safety' w? BJP members' participation in officers' dishonesty is root cause of problem. re should be a thorough investigation into this and whoever got a share of bribe should be punished," he said.
Yav also said state government should pass a "condemnation motion" for its "corruption" and "heartless behaviour" and impose a fine of Rs 1 crore on itself which it should give to family of deceased.
