" Government has expressed profound sorrow on s demise of Chief Minister Shri Mahar Parrikar, in state of Goa on March 17, 2019.
As a mark of respect to departed dignitary, seven days State Mourning will be observed throughout state of Goa from 18/03/2019 to 24/03/2019 both days inclusive.

During period of State Mourning National Flag will fly at Half Mast on all buildings throughout state of Goa where it is regularly flown and re will be official entertainment."
Centre earlier on Sunday anunced national mourning on March 18, following demise of Goa Chief Minister Mahar Parrikar. A state funeral will be accorded to late former Defence Minister.

Goa Chief Minister Mahar Parrikar passed away on Sunday after battling a prolonged illness. He was 63 years old.

President of India Ram Nath Kovind anunced on Twitter about Parrikar's demise. He tweeted saying:
"Extremely sorry to hear of passing of Shri Mahar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa, after an illness borne with fortitude and dignity. An epitome of integrity and dedication in public life, his service to people of Goa and of India will t be forgotten."
Parrikar was suffering from a serious pancreatic ailment. He was at his private residence at Dona Paula in Goa during his last hours.
