The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, under construction on the Faridabad bypass, is almost ready, with just load testing remaining before it opens for traffic. Expected to be operational by the end of this month, the expressway will significantly reduce travel time and congestion for commuters across Delhi, Haryana , Rajasthan , Madhya Pradesh , Gujarat , and Maharashtra .

Residents Already Using the Expressway

Though the official link between Kail and Mandkaula has yet to be inaugurated, locals in Faridabad are already using the expressway through Mandkaula from Kail village in Ballabhgarh. Despite being incomplete, a 25-kilometer stretch of the expressway has been seeing traffic.

Planned Launch Delays and Election Congestion

Previously, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) intended for this section to be accessible by February 20. However, with the region’s traffic worsening due to upcoming assembly elections and rallies, some drivers are using the unfinished highway to escape bottlenecks, putting their safety at risk.

Safety Concerns Amid Ongoing Construction

Certain sections, especially on the Delhi side, remain blocked, with signboards and lamps still being installed beyond Ashoka Enclave. Despite these hurdles, the expressway is anticipated to revolutionize long-distance travel in North and Western India, boosting both trade and travel between key industrial hubs.

Commuters Eagerly Await the Opening

Commuters eagerly await its opening, anticipating shorter journeys and smoother traffic in the region. The expressway is set to greatly impact daily commutes, easing traffic woes while enhancing connectivity between major states and cities.
