Good News For Govt Employees As Bihar Hikes Dearness Allowance By 3 Per Cent

Patna: Bihar government on Thursday approved a 3 per cent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners.

decision was taken in a meeting of state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

This hike will increase DA from 50 to 53 per cent, giving improved financial assistance to lakhs of regular employees and pensioners, Cabinet Secretariat said.

hike will be effective from July 1, 2024, it said.

cabinet also approved a new scheme, called 'Mukhyamantri Grihsthal Kraya Yojna', under which Revenue and Land Reforms Department will provide financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to each landless family for purchase of three decimal land.

"This one-time financial assistance will be provided to eligible landless family for purchase of ir own land in state," said proposal approved by cabinet.

cabinet gave its approval for maintenance and upgration of rural ros after expiry of post-construction maintenance contract by contractors.

It also sanctioned Rs 120.58 crore for acquiring 50.50 acre land for development of tourist amenities and basic infrastructure near Punaura Dham Janki Mandir in Sitamarhi district.
