Good News for Mumbaikars: New Weekly Bandra Terminus-Lalkuan Express Flagged Off, Check Details

Indian Railways launched a new weekly Bandra Terminus-Lalkuan Express, enhancing Mumbai’s connectivity with Uttarakhand just in time for the festive season.

Mumbai: Residents of Mumbai have another reason to be happy this festive season, as Indian Railways has launched a new weekly train service connecting the city to the northern part of the country.

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale and MLA Ashish Shelar flagged off the first run of the Bandra Terminus-Lalkuan Express on October 13. The event took place at Bandra Terminus station, with Niraj Verma, Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division, also in attendance.

Train Schedule and Features

The inaugural train, designated as Train No. 09015 Bandra Terminus-Lalkuan Superfast Special, departed at 4:20 p.m. from Bandra Terminus and is scheduled to arrive at Lalkuan the following day at 7:45 p.m. Key stops along the route include Borivali, Surat, Vadodara, and Hazrat Nizamuddin. The train offers a variety of classes, including AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper, and General Second Class.

Connectivity

In its regular schedule, the service will operate as Train No. 22543/22544 Bandra Terminus-Lalkuan Express. The train is expected to enhance connectivity between Mumbai and Uttarakhand, easing access to religious and tourist spots. The new service is also likely to support economic growth by benefiting businesses, tourism, and trade along the route, demonstrating Indian Railways' focus on improving convenience and connectivity for passengers.
