Kuchchh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Diwali visited Border Security Forces (BSF) soldiers in Gujarat 's Kuchchh as he does every year during this festival. Addressing jawans at the border, PM Modi lauded security forces saying soldiers have to fight in desert, in snow and in other dangerous places, the enemies look at our army and think that those who can go through so much, can go through anything.

“When citizens look at you, they feel safe. When the world looks at you, they see the power of India. I am proud of our army. They have always proved themselves. Our navy is also worth the praise. The country knows that enemy is looking at the Sir Creek border, but we are relieved because we trust our army,” PM Modi said.

“The country now has a 'Made-in-India' aircraft carrier like Vikrant. India is also making its submarines and our Tejas fighter aircraft has become IAF's strengths. We are also working on a fifth-generation fighter aircraft. Earlier, India was known as a defence importer. Now, the country is exporting defence equipment to several nations of the world,” the Prime Minister added.

"Keeping in mind the needs of the twenty-first century, today we are equipping our armies, our security forces, with modern resources. We are putting our Army in the league of the world's most modern military forces. The basis of these efforts of ours is self-reliance in the defence sector," the Prime Minister said.

"I am proud of our soldiers who have shown their capabilities in every tough situation. While I am here in Kuchchh today, it is important to discuss about our Navy. The coast here in Gujarat is one of India's biggest strengths. That's why the coastlines here have to face the most number of threats from our enemies," he added.

Earlier, he began his address to the Jawans saying, "Getting an opportunity to celebrate the festival of Diwali with the jawans is the biggest happiness...I extend my best wishes to you all..."
