Green corridor app to ensure for hassle-free movement during medical emergencies: Official
With the rise in number of organ transplantation cases over the past 2 years, the Bengal govt is planning to set up dedicated corridors for easy movement

With rise in number of organ transplantation cases in city over past two years, Bengal government, in coordination with pollution control board and Kolkata Police, is planning to set up dedicated green corridors for hassle-free movement during emergencies. A senior government official said route for corridors has been outlined and work has begun to design a GPS-assisted mobile app to run project - in tune with "vision of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee".
Dedicated corridors to ensure patients reach hospital quickly
"We have seen a surge in organ transplantation cases in recent times, for which Kolkata Police sets up green corridors to rush patients or donated organs to hospitals. dedicated corridor will ensure that patients get to reach hospitals at shortest possible time, without affecting traffic movement," he said.

Accordingly, police and transport department would use global positioning system (GPS) to make arrangements for smooth movement of ambulances, he said. "As of w, a few city-based government hospitals will be selected to run project on an experimental basis. Once system is up and running, service will be extended to or parts of state," government official said. A senior Kolkata Police officer said preparations were in full swing to design and launch app. "

This app will be highly beneficial.... As per as initial proposal, officers at Kolkata Police control room will be monitoring entire process. t just doctors and patients, ambulance drivers, too, will have to have app in ir mobile phones," he ded.
