Gujarat: Massive blast triggers fire at Deepak Nitrite Plant in Vadodara, 8 people injured

An explosion followed by fire was reported at Deepak Nitrite Company in the Nandesari GIDC area in Gujarat's Vadodara.

An explosion followed by fire was reported at Deepak Nitrite Company in Nandesari GIDC area in Gujarat's Vadodara.

According to visuals being shared on social media, thick smoke billowing can be seen from a far distance. Fire tenders have been rushed to spot to control fire. 8 people were injured due to fire, out of which 3 are said to be in a critical condition. injured were immediately rushed to SSG hospital. At least 17 fire tenders were rushed to spot to douse massive fire while rescue operations are underway.

Deepak Nitrite is a chemical manufacturing company that produces a spectrum of chemicals, including colourants, agrochemicals, colourants, rubber, speciality and fine chemicals. It has manufacturing plants in Nandesari and Dahej in Gujarat, Taloja and Roha in Maharashtra and Hyderabad in Telangana.
