Amid heavy rains lashing Gujarat, a pride of seven lions was spotted taking midnight walk around the roads in Junagadh city. The video has gone viral on Twitter

Amid heavy rains lashing state of Gujarat, a pride of seven lions was spotted taking a stroll on roads of Junagadh city. In a video that is going viral on social media, lions can be seen roaming around city in night as rain is pouring lightly. video shows lions, who believed to have come from Junagadh's Girnar Sanctuary, walking in rain on roads. However, people can be spotted in visuals. video appears to have been captured by a passerby in area.

Deputy Conservator of Forests issues statement

As video went viral on social media, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Junagadh took to Twitter and clarified that lions of Girnar Sanctuary are safe and it is natural behaviour of lions to cross through parts of Junagadh city, rain or rain.

High alert in Gujarat

Meanwhile, Bharuch district in Gujarat is bracing up for a flood-like situation as Narmada river water has increased. Bharuch’s district collector MD Modiya also asserted that thousands of stranded people from 23 vills have been taken to safer locations. Apart from this, two National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams and one State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) team are on standby. Also, India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red-level warning for Bharuch and Surat for Wednesday.
