Amid the heavy rains lashing the state of Gujarat, a pride of seven lions was spotted taking a stroll on the roads of Junagadh city. In a video that is going viral on social media, the lions can be seen roaming around the city in the night as rain is pouring lightly. The video shows the lions, who believed to have come from Junagadh's Girnar Sanctuary, walking in the rain on the roads. However, no people can be spotted in the visuals. The video appears to have been captured by a passerby in the area.

Deputy Conservator of Forests issues statement
As the video went viral on social media, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Junagadh took to Twitter and clarified that the lions of the Girnar Sanctuary are safe and it is the natural behaviour of the lions to cross through parts of Junagadh city, rain or no rain.

High alert in Gujarat
Meanwhile, Bharuch district in Gujarat is bracing up for a flood-like situation as the Narmada river water has increased. Bharuch’s district collector MD Modiya also asserted that thousands of stranded people from 23 villages have been taken to safer locations. Apart from this, two National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams and one State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) team are on standby. Also, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red-level warning for Bharuch and Surat for Wednesday.
