Guru Nanak Dev's life and philosophy comes alive in light & sound show

Life of Guru Nanak Dev came alive on stage in Sultanpur Lodhi at the first light and sound show held on the banks of the holy Bein on Monday.

Ahead of the 550th Prakash Purab, the life of the first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev, came alive on stage in Sultanpur Lodhi at the first light and sound show held on the banks of the holy Bein on Monday. This is a part of a series of events being held by the state government to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak. The 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev will take place on November 12. The event was organised by Punjab Public Relations Department and the staging is supposed to continue till November 15.

As per reports, the show tracked the life of Guru Nanak Dev from his birth at Talwandi Rai Bhoe Ki, which subsequently came to be known as Nankana Sahib, till his last days at Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan. The performances also involved digital techniques and a laser show to highlight Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings. It further talks about his travels and days in Kartarpur Sahib to show how his entire journey was to send across a message of universal brotherhood. The show also highlighted his early life and his travel to Sultanpur Lodhi, where he gave away the money given to him by his father for business purpose to the poor.

550th Parkash Purab

On this occasion, there will be big historical samagams and in order to make these samagams memorable gursangats under the leadership of Sant Balbir Singh, Seechewal are engaged in the arrangements since last year. Ek Onkar Charitable trust is making full efforts to articulate the philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and to follow his teachings. Guru Nanak dev Ji had given the message 'Pawan Guru, Pani Pita, Mata Dharat Mahat' on the land of Sultanpur Lodhi. here itself the voice “Welfare to All” had echoed. Punjab is called the land of Guru's and Peers, the same motherland, the man's greed has polluted it that much that not only the man but the whole universe is suffering due it. Sant Seechewal has been making humble requests to the gursangats to participate in the samagams in great numbers and with great enthusiasm and whoever wants to do any type of kar sewa can register himself at the website opened for this purpose.
